Abstract

This study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and solutions in Indonesia’s international trade in the livestock sector, with a particular focus on the impact of the live chicken export policy to the Singapore market. The research employs a descriptive analysis method using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, utilizing data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and relevant scientific literature. The findings indicate that Singapore represents a highly potential market due to its strong dependence on food imports, thereby creating significant opportunities for Indonesia as a poultry-producing country. However, the performance of Indonesia’s live chicken exports remains fluctuating, influenced by several factors such as stringent food safety standards, infrastructure limitations, and supply instability. These challenges necessitate improvements in production quality, implementation of biosecurity measures, and enhancement of supply chain efficiency. On the other hand, the live chicken export policy has shown a positive impact in expanding market access and strengthening Indonesia’s competitiveness in the international market. Therefore, an integrated strategy is required through regulatory strengthening, technological innovation, and active government involvement in trade diplomacy to ensure export sustainability and reinforce Indonesia’s position in the global livestock trade.
