Abstract

Young people play an important role in church ministry, making it important to examine factors associated with their flourishing. This study aimed to examine the effects of spirituality and social support on flourishing among young people involved in church ministry within Synod “X” in Karawang. A quantitative causal research design was employed, involving 122 participants aged 13–35 years who were recruited using snowball sampling. Data were collected using three instruments: the Youth Spirituality Scale (YSS) to measure spirituality, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) to assess perceived social support, and the PERMA-Profiler to measure flourishing. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression after the assumptions of residual normality and linearity were met. The results showed that spirituality and social support had significant positive effects on flourishing, jointly accounting for 38.4% of the variance in flourishing. These findings indicate that higher levels of spirituality and perceived social support are associated with higher levels of flourishing among young people involved in church ministry. The findings highlight the relevance of spirituality and social support in understanding flourishing among young people engaged in church ministry.
